A staple of the Canadian tech networking calendar is returning to downtown Ottawa next month.
SaaS North, which bills itself as “Canada’s longest-running and largest gathering of software-as-a-service, AI-native, and cloud software scaleup companies,” is coming to the Rogers Centre on Nov. 5 and 6.
Organizers say they expect more than 2,000 attendees at the 10th edition of the two-day event, which was co-founded in 2016 by Kanata’s L-Spark accelerator and Vancouver-based Cube Business Media. About 800 companies from across North America will be involved in the conference.
For the first time, SaaS North will have a unified theme: “Future-Proofing SaaS in the Age of AI.” Seminars will be “designed to equip founders with the insights needed to thrive in an AI-driven world,” organizers said in a news release this week.
“This year marks a major milestone for SaaS North, and we’re ready to make it our most impactful event yet,” David Tyldesley, co-founder of Cube Business Media, said in a statement.
“With AI reshaping the SaaS landscape, this year’s conference highlights its continuing impact. Attendees will connect directly with founders and industry leaders, gaining first-hand insight into how AI is shaping innovation, competition, and growth.”
Past conferences have included high-profile speakers such as Shopify chief executive Tobi Lütke, former Kinaxis CEO John Sicard and Canopy Growth co-founder Bruce Linton. This year’s program features executives from global tech powerhouses OpenText and Lightspeed Commerce as well as local leaders such as Calian Group CEO Kevin Ford.
In addition to past favourites such as the SaaS North pitchfest, SheBoot competition, networking opportunities and panel discussions with software industry entrepreneurs from across Canada, the event brings back a new feature introduced a year ago: The Masked Investor.
Inspired by the popular reality TV show The Masked Singer, the segment will spotlight “a mystery investor in full disguise, stepping into the spotlight to reveal unfiltered insights – from partnering with startups to unveiling the secrets to fundraising success,” according to the news release.
