Years of economic uncertainty haven’t slowed Canada’s entrepreneurs. They’ve made them more determined. New research from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) for Small Business Week finds 78 per cent are focused on growth, and this year’s theme says what’s at stake: in a “Two-Speed World,” it’s “Fast or Finished.” So what separates the businesses pulling ahead? Join OBJ, Trexity and the Ottawa Board of Trade for a live virtual event during Small Business Week and get the answers directly from the people tracking the shift: -- Get the research first. BDC chief economist Pierre Cleroux will unveil new research on the state of entrepreneurship in Canada, with insight you can use to benchmark your own business. -- Understand what’s changing on main street. Alok Ahuja of Ottawa-based Trexity will explain how local businesses are adapting, and finding new customers, in an e-commerce world. -- Find out what Ottawa is doing to help. Sueling Ching will outline the Buy Local program and other initiatives aimed at spurring economic growth in the city. Whether you run a business, work with one or are weighing your next move, this is a chance to get informed and come away with ideas worth acting on.
